My wishes for the future

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe simply because it has been handed down for many generations. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is written in Holy Scriptures. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of Teachers, elders or wise men. Believe only after careful observation and analysis, when you find that it agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all. Then accept it and live up to it.”  By Buddha.

Happy holidays to everybody! 🙂

The Sicilian Cannolo

This something that YOU HAVE TO TASTE when you’ll come in Sicily. It’s the famoust sicilian pastry, and in Sicily we have the best pastry school of the entire Italy. It’s very simple and extremely sweet.

The tube, very crispy, is made with wheat flour, wine, sugar and lard, and inside there is a sheep cheese with sugar called ricotta and sometimes pieces of chocolate.

Advice: don’t buy cannolo already made because the tube will not be crispy. It should be filled on time!

New way of travelling

This blog is not for the people who like to travel without feeling the new culture, eating the typical food and discover new places with the eyes of a local.

The first times I was travelling I didn’t know that was so important to feel the culture. I was travelling with italian people, eating pizza when I was abroad and doing what italian normally use to do. Then I realized that there is another alternative way of travelling, and so I started to speak new languages, eating different things, interacting with different people.

This is also the story of the place where I came from. Sicily was always dominated by different cultures, and this is one of the reason why we have a so complete body language: To avoid that “invasors” would understand us.

Nowadays in my opinion there is only one way of travelling. Let behind you your culture and be ready for hug totally different people and different thinking.
